It is "fluff"...Yes there is a loving side to God, and yes he can help you succeed and have a good life....as he speaks of and yada yada yada, BUT- I feel that he is putting God in a box on some levels. It is almost as if- because he speaks of the fluffy non-confrontational messages- people come- there is not as much church politics there ( just from observing)- because he is not getting down to the "nitty gritty" and speaking about something on a touch issue. Makes me wonder if he strays away from confrontation? Sound like anybody you know babe? :/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00136219957783913762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17671058791865493.post-55191070384641442022007-10-17T09:51:00.000-07:002007-10-17T09:51:00.000-07:00well, in a church like lakewood, you're never real...well, in a church like lakewood, you're never really challenged spiritually to grow or ponder things that are critical in a everchanging, spiritual walk. it really reminds me of when i grew up in church, the message every week was that God loves you, God loves you... oh... and don't screw up or you're going to hell. very 1 dimentional. i like being challenged every week and learning something new Every Week, getting new perspectives, and keeping the focus on doing life with Christ.Mirandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18011231855102500904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17671058791865493.post-6877173346113093902007-10-17T01:04:00.000-07:002007-10-17T01:04:00.000-07:00I agree with your summary. They were mostly just "fluff talk"...no real substance or teaching other than self esteem stuff. Dangerous teaching for itching ears.Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04369916732015772790noreply@blogger.com
