Things I've Learned about Leading Worship by Being a Janitor .3

A big part of my job is simply making an area look clean whether its been cleaned or not, it needs to look clean. I might have cleaned the carpet but if there is still a huge stain on the floor it probably doesn't look clean to most people.

Probably the most overlooked part of worship is presentation. How something looks matters. Example...if you are doing a more reflective song and the lights are on full blast it probably doesn't reflect the mood you are trying to set with the song. Today churches have gone to a lights down approach, a more serious feel. But if the lights are down when people are greeting each other it probably doesn't allow people to connect very well.

We should always be thinking about how the presentation of song/look/volume/lighting/powerpoint effects the mood and personality of the service.
